Financial Summary

Below is a breakdown of actual funds received vs the arrears (short) amount:

Contributions (January - March 2026)

For the purpose of understanding the graphs below, we put The Gallery contributions into Ribbon totals, and position New Chum with Montrose.


Contributions by month, up to and including March 7th. Admittedly, some additional contributions for March costs may have been received subsequently.

Remaining Challenges

  • Shortfall in total contributions relative to the actual rolling costs. Increased participation in funding the initiative sustainably will be much appreciated.This pressure is set to grow if we cannot improve contribution numbers, as it has become a requirement to consider a marginal/small increase for the rangers.


  • Funding consumables, like shoes, uniforms, torches and radio/radio repairs. These costs have been directly funded by a few of the already participating contributors. In some cases, the costs can be substantial in some months.


  • Communication gaps. Appreciate the frustration expressed by some recently, but we are needing ‘street champions’ to consider putting themselves forward to assist in elevating the quality and quantity of content around the initiative, including the above said challenges, assisting with collection reminders (where needed) and the like.

Next Steps being considered

  • A community meeting to discuss recent incidents in our area, and what would be required to improve/remedy this urgently.
    • Access changing risks.
    • Discuss possible improvements to the initiative.
    • Community/Security company partnership.


  • Demonstrate some of the initiatives that have been implemented, in particular by Ribbon residents on:
    • Camera installations.
    • Improved in guard house monitoring capabilities.

  • Currently we have developed this website, allowing for easy access to information on the initiative, including contribution updates, relevant security updates.


  • Next: Flyers, to again rally community participation.
